Juventus regains confidence in the Europa League thanks to Gonzalez's goal

After a period of uncertainty, Juventus found the answer against NEC, dominating the opening match in the Europa League and winning with five goals. Coach Spalletti described the performance as “extremely satisfying”, a sign of new confidence for the team.

Juventus dominated the clash against NEC, winning with five goals in its first Europa League game. The scorers were Nico Gonzalez, Alajbegovic, Woltemade, Celik and Kolo Muani. The two strikers scored their first league goals and aim to be in the starting lineup on Sunday in Turin.

Spalletti praises the offensive lucidity

The coach described the performance as “extremely satisfying” because the players took the field with a clarity of ideas. He added that they turned doubts into decisions to be made and chose well.

Spalletti highlighted the beauty of the goals, a result of the eagerness and desire to act of his forwards. He praised Nico Gonzalez for having snatched a ball that seemed a bit long.

Regarding Kolo Muani, the coach noted that the youngster needs to hold his own more in duels and add more strength in challenges, as opponents close down on him with intensity.

The Argentine said: “We needed this win, to play good football. We had trained hard, we delivered a great match and in the end we took those three points.” He added that the forwards need goals because they live for them.

The German commented: “Honestly you can play as well as you want, but for a striker the goal is always the most important thing.” He thanked Nico Gonzalez for allowing him to take the penalty and said that every week he learns something new, including Italian.
