Juventus dominates NEC and regains confidence in the Europa League

In the Europa League match, Juventus overwhelmed NEC with a clear victory, allowing Spalletti to celebrate the first goals of his forwards. The result brings the team back to believing in the European campaign. After eight minutes of play, the team had already shown superiority.

The goals of the victory

The first strike came in the eighth minute: goalkeeper Grabara sent a long ball to Nico Gonzalez, who slotted it into the empty NEC goal. Shortly after, Sarr supplied McKennie, who scored the second. Alajbegovic opened the 2‑0 with a powerful right foot, while Woltemade completed the hat‑trick in just over half an hour. In the second half, the former Roma player added the fourth and Kolo Muani, brought on by Spalletti, finished the 5‑0.

Spalletti carried out a half‑revolution starting from the goalkeeper, with Grabara making his debut in black‑and‑white. Gatti plays alongside Lucumì, while in midfield Sarr forms the barrier with Douglas Luiz and the return of McKennie. In attack, Woltemade is the sole striker, supported by Nico Gonzalez and Alajbegovic.

For NEC, the former Torino player Schuurs starts from the bench; in attack Schreuder lines up Tadic with the Linssen‑Chery duo behind him. The Dutch defence proves to be the weak point, unable to contain the black‑and‑white pressure from the first minutes.

Earnings and schedule

The victory generates €450,000 for Juventus, which adds to a total just under €15 million. The revenue breakdown includes €4.31 million for the participation bonus, €7.16 million for the European share, €2.89 million for the non‑European share and €0.08 million for the minimum league position.

In the next Europa League round, Juventus will face Celta Vigo in Spain on Thursday, 15 October, followed by a home match against Rennes. In November, the games will be against AZ Alkmaar on the 5th, Omonia Nicosia on the 26th, then Hapoel Beer Sheva, Ferencvaros and Real Sociedad at the end of January 2027.

Tomorrow the team returns to Serie A against Atalanta at the Allianz Stadium, a more telling test to consolidate the regained confidence. Spalletti aims to maintain composure and continuity of play during the long European break.

With the rout, Juventus shows that it has answered the criticism and can compete both in Europe and in the league, leaving the path open for further success in the group stage.
