Jérôme Cazadieu says Ligue 1+ has reached 14 million viewers
Marketing and editorial director Jérôme Cazadieu told that Ligue 1+ has reached 14 million people since the season began, marking a strong start for the paid French football service after the three‑week international break.
Premium positioning in the French market
The platform broadcasts the French championship exclusively, offering nine matches each weekend. It is the first paid football channel in France to dominate the 15‑49 age bracket, a key demographic for subscription services.
Among the ten highest‑rated paid‑football broadcasts, half originate from Ligue 1+, underscoring its appeal to a broad audience beyond core club supporters.
New formats and digital engagement
Ligue 1+ promotes its Saturday‑evening multiplex, which averages around 400,000 viewers – a rise of 16 percent compared with the previous season. The format targets casual fans who prefer a bite‑size viewing experience.
On social platforms, the channel has amassed one billion video views and 80 million engagements, reflecting extensive interaction with highlights, interviews and other non‑live content.
This weekend the league returned with the Lens versus Lyon fixture and an interview with Pierre Sage, both of which were widely shared. When former player Adil Rami argued that Abdelli deserved a red card in the Troyes‑OM match, more than 1.5 million people echoed his view.
A September study by Ipsos and BVA recorded a 96 percent satisfaction rate among Ligue 1+ subscribers, confirming the platform’s success in meeting fan expectations while it seeks new audiences.
Now fourteen months old, the channel is in a development phase, rolling out innovations such as referee‑mic audio, Refcam angles and immersive locker‑room experiences, backed by a reinforced consultancy team.
