Ipswich Town bolster attack with Scotland star Georgia Timms

Ipswich Town have completed the signing of Georgia Timms, adding a proven goal‑scorer to strengthen their forward line ahead of the new season. The 28‑year‑old arrives on a permanent deal after four seasons with Hearts in the Scottish Women’s Premier League. Timms brings a record of 45 goals in four years with the Jambos.

Timms joined Hearts on a free transfer in the summer of 2022 after leaving the former Barclays WSL2 side Lewes. Prior to that she made her name in the English FA Women’s National League with Oxford United, where she was a regular scorer for The Yellows. Her performances earned her a move to the second tier with Lewes.

During her four years at Hearts, Timms helped the club win the Scottish Women’s Premier League title for the first time in its history. She was part of the squad that secured the championship last season. Her 45‑goal tally underlines her impact in the SWPL.

The Tractors Girls announced the signing on their official website this afternoon. After the move, Timms said, “I’m so happy to be here. The club, the direction it’s going in and speaking with the manager David Wright and speaking to Sean Burt, it was the move that I wanted.” The comment highlights her enthusiasm about the project.

Timms becomes Ipswich Town’s eighth signing of the summer window and the fifth player recruited from the SWPL this season. She will join the squad as they prepare for the upcoming campaign in the English FA Women’s National League. The club will look to integrate her quickly to boost their attacking options.
