Nations League
Inter and Barcellona bet on Finn Jeltsch, valuation 40‑50 million
From Germany, Inter and Barcelona are closely watching the young Stuttgart defender Finn Jeltsch, whose development has convinced Jurgen Klopp to call him up to the national team for the Nations LEAGUE, although the 20‑year‑old still remained on the bench against Serbia.
Scouts in the stands
Inter and Barcelona's scouts were in the stands for the Champions LEAGUE match between Stuttgart and Viking on September 9. Jeltsch played 71 minutes as a central defender in a back three, contributing to his club's 3‑1 victory. His performance allowed the nerazzurri and the blaugrana to assess his potential.
Premier League interest
In addition to Inter and Barcelona, several Premier League clubs have shown interest. In the summer, interest from Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool was reported. Bayern Munich has also kept an eye on the defender, according to sources.
The 2006‑born player is a pillar of Stuttgart's defence, having started all six league matches, staying on the pitch for 90 minutes on five occasions. In just over a year and a half he has amassed 57 appearances. His consistency has cemented his role as a centre‑back.
Jeltsch has a contract with the German club until 2030, but it does not bind the player to stay for another four years. His valuation is estimated at around €40‑50 million. Stuttgart signed him in January 2025 from Nuremberg, paying €9.5 million.
Jurgen Klopp decided to reward Jeltsch's development by calling him up for the first time with the senior national team. He remained on the bench against Serbia, while he will have the chance to make his debut against Greece on October 4. Prior to that, he has collected six caps with the Under‑21s.
Inter and Barcelona will continue to monitor the situation, even though the winter transfer window is still far off. Bayern Munich, Liverpool and Arsenal remain in the race, making the upcoming auction potentially competitive. The future of JELTSCH and KLOPP remains at the centre of attention.
