Infantino cancels FIFA Forward Enterprise after continental opposition

In a short video posted to FIFA’s official social‑media channels, Gianni Infantino announced that the governing body will discontinue the FIFA Forward Enterprise (FFE) project. The statement, released on the federation’s accounts, confirmed the termination of the initiative that had sparked debate among football’s governing continents.

Infantino cited the clear rejection of the plan by UEFA, Concacaf and the Asian Football Confederation (Confederación Asiática de Fútbol) as the decisive factor. All three continental bodies voiced opposition to the proposal, which centred on the sale of commercial rights and organised events to private operators.

The Forward Enterprise scheme, according to the announcement, would have transferred ownership of FIFA‑generated commercial assets and event revenues to external partners. The model was intended to generate new streams of income that could be redistributed to national federations.
