Hull City’s new target stalls Stassin’s ASSE exit amid Porto’s own deal

The ASSE Mercato surrounding 21‑year‑old Belgian striker Lucas Stassin has taken another turn, as the summer market now sees Hull City concentrating on Tim Iroegbunam and FC Porto edging closer to Santiago Gimenez, leaving fewer clear destinations for the Saint‑Étienne forward.

Hull City shifts focus

Hull City, often referred to as Les Tigers, had been listed among the clubs interested in Lucas Stassin. The English club, however, now has another offensive priority, targeting the 23‑year‑old midfielder Tim Iroegbunam. According to TEAMtalk, Hull City submitted a formal offer exceeding £15 million, roughly €17.5 million, for Iroegbunam. This move places the Tigers in pole position for the midfielder and diverts attention from Stassin.

With the Tigers occupied, the possibility of a Stassin move to Hull City appears less likely.

Porto eyes Santiago Gimenez

Une autre piste for the Saint‑Étienne striker involved FC Porto, which was previously mentioned as a potential destination. Matteo Moretto reported that Santiago Gimenez is now on the brink of joining the Portuguese club. Negotiations are advanced, awaiting only Milan’s approval for the transfer. Should Gimenez complete his move, Porto may no longer need to pursue Stassin.

The advancing deal for Gimenez therefore narrows the options for Lucas Stassin, as the Portuguese side’s interest wanes.

Stassin’s market remains open

Despite the shifting priorities of Hull City and Porto, Lucas Stassin’s future at ASSE is not yet sealed. The Belgian forward continues to be regularly linked with a departure, and the club’s hierarchy hopes for a significant financial operation through his sale. The ASSE case may still see several twists before the summer window closes.
