Hiddink lauds Saibari’s rise as Bayern Munich eye looms

🇳🇱
Former Belgium coach Guus Hiddink praised the rapid development of PSV midfielder Ismael Saibari, noting the Moroccan international’s three goals from three duels at the recent World Cup and his growing prominence at the Dutch club, which has sparked rumours of a summer move to Bayern Munich. Hiddink explained that he has been tracking Saibari since the player emerged from PSV’s youth system. "I have spoken to Saibari several times. He comes from the youth at PSV and in the time when Philip Cocu was head coach I was sometimes with him and I spoke to him," Hiddink said. He added that their conversations also covered Saibari’s ambitions. "He wanted to succeed at PSV and grow internationally," Hiddink recalled. According to Hiddink, Saibari has taken the right steps toward those goals. "I find him now very fit. There was a period that I thought something could be missing. Although he is naturally robust," he observed. Hiddink emphasized that Saibari’s current profile aligns with the demands of international football. "If you want to manifest yourself internationally, you must be very technical, have speed and also be quite powerful," he explained. He pointed to Saibari’s recent duel‑winning form as evidence. "If you see how he now wins duels, also run and sprint duels… I like that," Hiddink noted. Saibari’s three goals from three duels at the World Cup have raised his profile further, and his increasing visibility at PSV suggests a likely transfer to Bayern Munich this summer.
