Harry Kane denies the rumor of a leak before the Ballon d'Or
Two days before the Ballon d’Or, Harry Kane finds himself at the centre of a rumor that would already place him at the top of the podium, while the player says he does not know any result and is awaiting the ceremony with anxiety, as he recently stated.
Posts appearing on social media and picked up by foreign sites claim that the Bayern Munich striker had already been informed of his victory. An official photo shoot was even said to have been scheduled before his trip to the London Palladium.
Kane, however, still says he is unaware of the result and no identifiable primary source confirms the alleged leak. His latest public statements directly contradict these claims.
When asked about the waiting period before the ceremony, the Englishman explained that this uncertainty was “very stressful” for his wife and family. He would prefer to know the result in advance, but says he must wait until Monday evening. He understands the organizers’ decision to keep it secret in order to maintain the suspense.
The player's perspective
According to him, the striker sees the logic of keeping the suspense, which makes it hard to imagine a player already warned and summoned for official photographs. This stance does not completely rule out a staged scenario, but it removes any evidentiary value from the circulating publications.
The rumor is fueled by Kane’s status as a favourite with the bookmakers, where he is now well ahead of Lamine Yamal as the verdict approaches. This spectacular movement sustains the impression that confidential information is circulating, without any proof establishing it.
As it stands, Harry Kane remains the market favourite, but he is not officially designated as the Ballon d’Or winner. He will therefore have to wait for the award ceremony to see if he meets the expectations.
