Arsenal end 22-year wait for Premier League title
Arsenal clinched the Premier League title with a 2-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Emirates Stadium.
Mikel Arteta’s side secured the trophy with five games remaining after Manchester City’s 2-0 defeat to Aston Villa.
Declan Rice scored the first goal in the 19th minute, converting a rebound after a save from Dean Henderson. Gabriel Jesus added the second in the 26th minute.
Arsenal’s title triumph ends a 22-year wait, their previous league crown coming under Arsène Wenger in 2004. This is their third Premier League title.
City’s defeat means they finish second, 10 points behind Arsenal. Arsenal’s triumph follows a 10-game winning streak to close the season.
Arteta becomes the first manager to win the Premier League in his debut season since Antonio Conte with Chelsea in 2017.
