Gavi keeps his word with pink hair after the Mundial

Dieciocho days after España lifted the Mundial, the champion’s dressing room still buzzed with pending bets, and one belonged to Barcelona midfielder Pablo Gavi. The young midfielder had vowed before the tournament to change his look, and the moment to honour that promise finally arrived.

Gavi’s pre‑World Cup pledge was simple: a dramatic makeover after the competition. He announced the intention publicly, setting a deadline that coincided with the team’s triumph.

The promise was kept when Gavi visited his trusted barber, emerging with a freshly shaved head and striking pink hair – a stark contrast to his usual appearance. Photographs of the transformation were shared by the player shortly after.

The cut was performed by Raúl Sanroma, the barber who also tends Lamine Yamal. Sanroma recorded every stage, from the initial shave to the final pink hue, and posted the footage on his social channels.

Accompanying the video, Sanroma wrote: “La palabra es la palabra, lo prometido es deuda,” underscoring that a promise must be repaid.

Gavi amplified the buzz on Instagram, posting a picture of his new look and describing himself as “un hombre de palabra.” The post quickly attracted reactions from fans and teammates alike.

In the same dressing room, teammate Marc Cucurella settled his own wager by tattooing Luis de la Fuente with an image of the Copa del Mundo. The ink marked another pre‑tournament bet that had been made.

Con Gavi and Cucurella already crossed off the list, attention now turns to Ferrán Torres and Lamine Yamal, who each made bold commitments – Torres vowed to shave his head to zero, while Yamal promised to grow a beard and moustache for three weeks.
