France under Zidane prepares the squad before Italy and Turkey

As France prepares to resume the Nations, manager Zinédine Zidane has to deal with a flood of injuries. In less than fifteen days, on Friday November 6, he will present a second squad of the Bleus, but the absences force a complete overhaul.

A different call-up because of injuries

Zidane will unveil his second squad for the two final matches of the first round of the Nations League, one in Italy and the other against Turkey. It is already clear that this squad will be different from the previous one, injuries constraining his choices.

Ousmane Dembélé, injured in the thigh against Barcelona, is not expected to play again before the international break, making his presence in November unlikely. In attack, Estéban Lepaul suffers an ankle sprain, missing the games against Juventus and Strasbourg, and is not yet ready to return.

Planned replacements and available options

Under these circumstances, he could hand over his place to Marcus Thuran, in great form with Inter Milan. No Manu Koné either, the AS Rome midfielder being sidelined with a thigh injury in the Champions League.

Zidane already exercised caution in September with Aurélien Tchouaméni, who played the full 90 minutes on Sunday evening in the Clasico against FC Barcelona. Warren Zaïre‑Emery, initially ruled out in the first squad, is now fit.

Thus, the imminent return of the Bleus is set to come under the banner of a reshuffled selection, where the absences force the manager to rely on in‑form players and to reconsider his options.
