Former PSV talent Dante Rigo joins SK Beveren on a free transfer

Dante Rigo (27) has been terminated by mutual agreement as a player of SK Beveren and is therefore a free agent. The former midfielder, who was under contract with PSV and later played for Sparta Rotterdam and ADO Den Haag, can now look for a new club without a transfer fee. He is a longtime acquaintance of PSV, Sparta and ADO Den Haag.

Career path of the former PSV talent

Rigo left Belgium already in 2007 for PSV and subsequently went through the youth academy of the Eindhoven club. He eventually made his debut in the first team of the Eindhoven side, but a definitive breakthrough never materialised. The move to the Dutch top flight was made early, when he crossed the border as a teenager.

Afterwards, the 27‑year‑old midfielder appeared on loan for Sparta Rotterdam and later for ADO Den Haag. At Sparta he received sporadic playing minutes, while at ADO Den Haag he was mainly used as a substitute. The longtime acquaintance has previously played for PSV and Sparta Rotterdam.

After his departure from Eindhoven, Rigo returned to Belgium via Beerschot and then moved to France, where he played for Grenoble Foot. In France he got the chance to gain experience in Ligue 2, but later returned to his home country. In 2025 he returned to the Belgian league with SK Beveren.

During his first spell at Beveren he featured a total of 26 times and scored one goal. He was part of the team that became unbeaten champions in the Challenger Pro League, a historic chapter for the club.

This season he received hardly any playing minutes; against RSC Anderlecht he came on as a substitute for only three minutes and he sat on the bench for the full matches against Royal Antwerp FC, Zulte Waregem and KRC Genk. The limited involvement underscored his reduced role in the current season.

Rigo and SK Beveren have mutually agreed to end the partnership. The club publicly thanked the midfielder for his professionalism and highlighted his role as one of the ‘Invincibles’. For the club his departure meant a loss of experience and he remains linked to the ‘Invincibles’ story via the club website.

According to Transfermarkt his current market value is €400,000, but because the agreement has been terminated, an interested club can sign him without a transfer fee. Thus he is now completely free to join a new club without financial obligations.
