Florentino Perez Re‑elected Real Madrid President Until 2030
Florentino Perez has been re‑elected as president of Real Madrid, defeating Enrique Riquelme in the club’s Sunday election. The 79‑year‑old will remain at the helm until 2030, extending his tenure to 27 of the last 30 years.
Perez delivered his victory speech minutes after the result was announced. He said Real Madrid won at all polling stations and that his candidacy achieved the second‑best result in the club’s election history.
Perez said the main objective of his new term is to bring the Champions League back to the Bernabeu, a trophy the club has not won since 2024. He added a goal of securing a sixteenth European Cup and pledged to address the concerns of members who did not vote for him.
Perez confirmed that José Mourinho will return as Real Madrid’s manager following the election. He described Mourinho as one of the best coaches in the world and expressed pride in having the best players alongside him.
