Spain tops FIFA rankings, Mancini's Italy remains 15th
Italy remains in 15th place in the FIFA ranking, updated after the international matches played since the World Cup up to today, for a total of 338 matches worldwide. Spain, led by Mancini, consolidates the lead thanks to a string of victories in the Nations League.
According to the update published by ANSA from ROME, 07 OCT, Spain remains the leader of the FIFA ranking. The podium is occupied by Argentina and France, while Portugal is the only top‑10 national team to gain positions, climbing two steps to fifth place, with Brazil in sixth and Morocco in seventh.
Switzerland and Portugal rise
In the consolation positions, Switzerland climbs two places to twelfth place. Germany and Croatia each lose one position, ending up in thirteenth and fourteenth place, within reach of a possible upcoming overtake by the Azzurri.
Progress of Mali, South Africa and Greece
Among the African national teams, Mali reaches 47th place and South Africa 48th, with a rise of six positions for both. Greece, on the other hand, climbs five positions to 41st, thanks to four consecutive useful results.
Italy, while staying at 15th, remains close to the aforementioned teams and could aim to surpass Germany or Croatia in the upcoming competitions.
