FC Twente secures PSV veteran goalkeeper Joël Drommel
FC Twente have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Joël Drommel, ending his five‑year spell with PSV after the Dutch club first brought him from Enschede to Eindhoven five seasons ago, and now sees him return to his former home in the Eredivisie.
PSV announced the transfer shortly after FC Twente had secured Drommel’s services, confirming the move on the club’s official website.
Five years ago Drommel made the switch from Enschede to Eindhoven, marking his initial arrival at PSV.
On PSV’s website Drommel wrote, “I look back on an unforgettable period in PSV‑dienst (PSV service). We enjoyed many successes, including winning league titles, KNVB Bekers (Cups) and Johan Cruijff Schalen (Johan Cruyff Shields).”
Director Earnest Stewart added, “Joël has always acted as a true professional. In every phase he put the team first and gave his all for PSV. His positive attitude and reliability made him a valued force within the squad.”
A social‑media post celebrated the move, captioned “He’s a keeper 🧤 #FCTwente.”
Drommel concluded, “PSV will always hold a special place in my heart and I look forward to seeing each other again at Philips Stadium.”
