Jules Koundé, defender of FC Barcelona, saw his agent Jonathan Kebé meet sporting director Deco on Thursday, an interview described as informal but which revives transfer rumours as the French full‑back is injured to the ankle and will miss the Clasico scheduled for Sunday.
Defender's career
After developing his skills at Girondins de Bordeaux, Jules Koundé moved to Spain in 2019. He then spent three seasons at Sevilla FC before joining FC Barcelona in 2022, where he continues his career.
Within the blaugrana squad, he has long been regarded as a key player. However, lately he appears to have lost standing in the eyes of his coach, as evidenced by his three consecutive bench appearances in September, recalling the first call‑up of the France team under Zinedine Zidane.
A recent injury to his left ankle prevented Koundé from taking part in the Champions League clash this week won by PSG against Barça (4-2). His condition is not expected to allow him to be available for the Clasico scheduled on Sunday against Real Madrid (21:00).

According to the media outlet Sport, Jonathan Kebé had lunch on Thursday with Deco. The outlet described the meeting as "informal", noting that it served as an exchange of views on the current situation of Jules Koundé.
FC Barcelona remains open on the Koundé case. The outlet contacted the defender's circle, who "categorically denied that any potential sale or offers concerning the player had been discussed".
The club has never hinted that it wishes to part with its full‑back, but Sport concludes that Barça is quietly open to proposals that could reach Deco's office. This rumour had already been heard during the last summer transfer window, without resulting in a deal. The Frenchman remains under contract with the Blaugrana until June 2030.
