Fabregas denies crisis at United, warns of stop for Jesus Rodriguez

The Spanish coach Cesc Fabregas, on the eve of the Champions League match against Manchester United, said that the Red Devils are not going through a crisis, but confirmed a long layoff for Jesus Rodriguez and Chalobah's absence for two weeks, while Kean will be assessed on Saturday.

During the press conference in Sinigaglia, Fabregas emphasized that “crises in football do not exist” and described the challenge against Manchester United as a “historic day” for Como. He added that the English club is a “great team” with a “crazy” history and that its players are ready to compete.

Injuries for Como

Fabregas explained that Jesus Rodriguez has suffered a more serious injury than initially thought, with a long layoff expected. Chalobah will be out for two weeks, missing four games, and Kean’s availability will be assessed for the upcoming Saturday. Diao, however, will return to the squad after the break.

The coach reiterated that, despite the absences, Como will continue to fight with ambition, trusting the players’ ability to adapt and maintain composure on the pitch.

Messi and the honour of the shirt

The Argentine Nico Paz, present at the conference, commented on Messi’s gesture of having his son wear the Como shirt, calling him “the greatest player in history”. Fabregas described this act as an honour for the club and a reward for the last few years of work.

Fabregas concluded by stressing the importance of the match: “An evening like tomorrow’s is a reward for what we have done in recent years. We deserve to play games of this kind.”

The coach’s final message was one of respect towards Manchester United, describing the club as historic and promising to compete at the highest level, aware of the challenge that lies ahead.
