Explosive remarks from Ibo Maza: Leverkusen in focus and PSG dreams

Ibrahim Maza has made explosive statements that he is flirting with a departure from Bayer Leverkusen to get closer to his big goal. When asked about the alleged interest from Paris Saint‑Germain, which became public a few weeks ago, the midfielder told RTL and Sky that it is a big dream to play for such a big club. He added that Paris is one of the best clubs in the world, together with Real, Barca and Arsenal.

PSG‑Dreams and big goals

Maza emphasized that not only he, but many footballers are working towards playing for such a club. He wants to win the Champions League and dreams of being among the best in the world and winning the Ballon d’Or. Lionel Messi was the only one who voted for Maza at the Ballon‑d’Or ceremony, which gives him great motivation.

Maza said that being selected by Messi is a great honour and a special motivation‑boost.

Leverkusen‑Performance and contractual situation

Despite all the dreams, Maza stresses that this season with Bayer Leverkusen he wants to reach for the stars. He wants to win the Europa League and the DFB‑Cup this year and qualify the Bundesliga 100 percent for the Champions League. Ibrahim Maza, 20 years old, is one of Europe's biggest talents. After twelve league appearances he already has seven goal involvements, including four goals himself.

After eight matchdays Bayer Leverkusen sit on 13 points in sixth place, after a 2:4 defeat to VfB Stuttgart. In the Europa League Bayer Leverkusen have collected nine points from three games. Next Thursday Bayer Leverkusen will face Olympique Marseille. Maza said it is difficult to say what the team lacks, as the opponents are very different and you cannot win everything.

Maza has a contract until 2030 and allegedly moved from Hertha BSC to Leverkusen in 2025 for twelve million euros. Accordingly, there is no release clause, making a transfer very costly. According to Sky, Paris Saint‑Germain could already take concrete steps in the winter to sign Maza.

PSG are looking for a replacement for the injured Khvicha Kvaratskhelia. Said El Mala from 1. FC Köln is also a candidate for Paris.
