EURO 2032 host race heats up as FIGC receives all city dossiers
The Italian Football Federation (FIGC) confirmed on 31 July that it has received the full documentation from all 13 candidate cities for EURO 2032, meeting the deadline set by UEFA for the host‑city selection process. This step marks a pivotal moment in the bidding timeline.
La corsa a EURO 2032 entra nel vivo, with the FIGC confirming that the July 31 deadline was respected. By adhering to UEFA’s schedule, the federation ensures the bidding process proceeds without delay.
Thirteen Italian cities have submitted dossiers, covering a total of sixteen stadiums. The candidates are Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Firenze, Genova, Lecce, Milano, Napoli, Palermo, Roma, Salerno, Torino and Verona.
The documentation will now undergo a detailed technical review to verify compliance with UEFA’s required standards. The assessment will focus on infrastructure quality, authorisation procedures, financial sustainability and organisational capacity.
In an official note the FIGC stated, “Acquisita la documentazione da parte di 13 città con 16 stadi, si avvia l’analisi tecnica.” The federation highlighted that the technical analysis has officially begun.
The FIGC expressed gratitude to all institutions that have supported the project during this initial phase. In the coming weeks it will continue dialogue with local authorities, sports clubs and other stakeholders to refine the dossiers.
The ultimate aim is to select the venues that will be formally presented to UEFA for EURO 2032. The federation must announce the chosen Italian stadiums by 1 October.
