Euro 2032 dossier submission pushes Italy’s bid as UEFA readies checks
On Wednesday 30 September 2026 the Italian Football Federation (FIGC) formally sent to UEFA the dossiers for thirteen candidate cities and fourteen stadiums as part of its Euro 2032 bid. President Giovanni Malagò delivered the package to UEFA president Alexander Ceferin, meeting the deadline set by the governing body.
Cities and stadiums under review
The submission covers the metropolitan areas of Bari, Bologna, Cagliari, Firenze, Genova, Lecce, Milano, Napoli, Palermo, Roma, Salerno, Torino and Verona. Roma proposes both the existing Olimpico and a new Pietralata arena, while Napoli puts forward the Maradona stadium as its primary venue.
UEFA’s compliance checklist and next steps
UEFA will now conduct conformity checks across eleven thematic areas, including infrastructural compatibility and sustainability. The audit examines 120 operational requirements such as fan services, accessibility, media and broadcaster facilities, security and hospitality. Only after these verifications will the FIGC announce the five cities that will host Euro 2032 matches.
Malagò said, “We are satisfied with the number and quality of dossiers that have arrived at the FIGC,” highlighting Italy’s commitment to the challenge. He added that the federation thanks UEFA for the fruitful collaboration and all public and private partners for their serious, competent and visionary contributions.
