Essugo opens the scoring and Strasbourg drops to 11th place

The midfield of Dário Essugo opened the scoring at the 41st minute, but Hugo Oliveira's Strasbourg ended up defeated 2-1 at Nice, in the sixth round of Ligue 1. Essugo's goal was the first of his spell at the club, coming from an assist by Conrad Harder, also a former Lion.

Table position after the setback

With the win, Nice moved up to 9th place with eight points, while Strasbourg dropped to 11th position, accumulating seven points. Portuguese manager Hugo Oliveira records three games without victories, including two consecutive defeats.

Diogo Sousa joined the midfield alongside Essugo in the starting eleven, reinforcing the presence of players with links to Sporting. The midfield, however, failed to maintain the advantage.

The draw was restored by Pape Demba Diop's own goal in the 45+2 minute, canceling Strasbourg's advantage before halftime.

In the second half, Jonathan Clauss scored the winning goal for Nice, sealing the comeback and confirming the visitors' defeat.

The result leaves Strasbourg in a delicate situation, with the team fighting to improve its standing in the upcoming rounds of Ligue 1.
