Transfers WOMEN

Durham’s third‑spell gamble on Dee Bradley fuels Wildcats’ ambitions

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

Durham have completed the permanent signing of 29‑year‑old midfielder Dee Bradley, returning to Maiden Castle for a third spell, after the club were notified by WSL Full-Time via an official press release from The Wildcats this evening, reinforcing the squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Bradley has already enjoyed two previous spells at Durham, making 102 appearances in all competitions. Her committed style of play has made her a fans’ favourite at the club.

The midfielder’s arrival marks Durham’s second signing of the summer transfer window, bolstering the squad ahead of the new campaign. She first joined Durham midway through the 2020/2021 season and stayed until the summer of 2025, before moving to third‑tier side Burnley.

Bradley later returned on loan for the second half of last season, after which she secured a permanent contract. Her return was welcomed by supporters eager for continuity.

Bradley said, “It feels great. Durham is a home to me now, so it just feels natural coming back. It’s the people, first and foremost. I’ve made friends for life here. The area feels like a bit of Ireland and this is a place I can see myself settling down in. People go on about the fanbase here, but it’s such a special group and they make us feel so welcome. It’s nice to be back and see them every Sunday.” She highlighted the community feel, comparing the area to a bit of Ireland.

The permanent deal ensures Bradley will be part of Durham’s plans for the upcoming campaign, with her familiarity expected to boost team cohesion. Her experience strengthens both midfield and defensive options for the Wildcats.

The signing underscores Durham’s intent to build on recent progress and deepen the connection with their fanbase. With Bradley’s popularity, the club hopes to maintain momentum in the women’s league.
