Diego Moreira barred from Udinese match, a blow for Milan

The young Belgian winger Diego Moreira, 22, is forced to miss the Serie A away trip against Udinese. According to Sky Sport Italia, he is suffering from an overload in the left thigh hamstring, which excludes him from the Sunday night squad. No return timetable has been announced yet.
Moreira's physical problems
Sky Sport Italia's diagnosis indicates an overload in the left hamstring muscle, which makes the player unavailable for the away match. Coach Ruben Amorim therefore did not include him in the Sunday departing squad. The convalescence period remains to be defined, and doctors will monitor his condition in the coming days.
The same availability issue also affects Adrien Rabiot, who is suffering from a right calf injury, and Mario Gila, who is dealing with inflammation in his left ankle. Both are excluded from the trip to Udinese. The list of absentees is already growing alongside Matteo Gabbia, Samuel Chukwueze and Alexis Saelemaekers.
The setback adds to the heavy 3‑0 defeat suffered last Thursday in Bournemouth in the Europa League. Diego Moreira started in that European match, but he will now have to watch the events from the stands. This loss increases the pressure on the Red Devil collective.
Busy schedule and derby stakes
After the match against Udinese, Milan will host Bologna at home on Wednesday, then face Inter three days later in the much‑awaited Milan derby. It reports that the club hopes to recover the three newly injured players before this duel, though it does not guarantee their availability. The derby stakes make each absence even more detrimental.
Ruben Amorim will therefore have to reshuffle his eleven to compensate for the absence of Moreira, Rabiot and Gila. Tactical options remain limited due to the reduced depth of the bench. This situation forces the coach to draw more from the young sector.
Diego Moreira left RC Strasbourg last summer to join the Italian club, signing a contract valid until 2031. The Belgian, a former youth international for Standard, thus begins his first season at Milan. His integration was expected as an offensive asset.
Moreira's medical follow‑up will continue in the coming days, without a precise return date. The player will have to wait until his condition allows him to again vie for a place in the starting eleven.
