Davies takes over, Kane loses – Bayern vs Arsenal Champions League

In the Champions‑League‑duel between FC Bayern Munich and Arsenal, the German record champion had to be satisfied in the end with a 2-2 draw. Despite the pressure from Arsenal's attacking line, three offensive players received very good ratings, while Luis Diaz caused concerns due to an injury.

Davies takes over the offense

Alphonso Davies came in for the sidelined Luis Diaz for his first appearance since 2024 in the left wing position. In the 35th minute he used a brilliant pass from Harry Kane to equalise the 1-1 with a shot from Eberechi Eze. For his performance he received a rating of 2.5.

Kane's hand penalty and the lead

Harry Kane was responsible in the first half for the pass that enabled the opening goal, and put Bayern into the lead in the 61st minute with a hand penalty. Despite this intervention Arsenal was able to maintain the pressure and later equalised.

Manuel Neuer returned to his comeback after two injury‑related absences. In the 78th minute he fell onto his sensitive shoulder after a collision, but got back up and at the end made a brilliant save to preserve the equaliser.

Defensive actors and their ratings

Konrad Laimer lost all five duels in the first half and caused a free kick that led to unrest in the penalty area in the 66th minute; he received a rating of 4. Dayot Upamecano had considerably more to do than usual, presented himself resolutely and recorded four clearing actions, for which he got a rating of 2.

Further offensive players in detail

Minjae Kim started again in place of Jonathan Tah and delivered a usable performance with a rating of 3.5; rumours of a departure in the winter were therefore dispelled. Josip Stanisic raised Eze's offside in the first half clumsily, but improved his duel rate in the second half and also received a rating of 3.5.

Tom Bischof replaced Joshua Kimmich, who was absent due to the sudden death of his father; he achieved a perfect passing rate in the first half and got a rating of 4. Aleksandar Pavlovic, who mostly acted defensively, also received a rating of 4, because Kimmich was clearly missed.

Serge Gnabry, who replaced the suspended Michael Olise, got a rating of 2 after he created Bayern's first chance in the 18th minute and tried a sprint shot shortly before halftime. Ismael Saibari, who played as a number ten like on Saturday against Leipzig, received a rating of 4, although his assists were not rewarded.
