Corona claims proof in Cagliari‑Esposito saga, blames club

Fabrizio Corona announced on X that he possesses concrete evidence about the Cagliari‑Esposito case, stating “Ho le prove di cosa è successo” and accusing the club of orchestrating a plot to scapegoat the striker and his entourage in a lengthy post that also referenced upcoming revelations on the Falsissimo programme.

Corona says a recorded telephone conversation from 29 July at around 23:30 reveals a senior Cagliari official demanding a staged incident to force a breakup and facilitate the sale of Sebastiano Esposito. He adds that the following day, 30 July, a meeting at the Melià restaurant in Milan attended by Giulini, Catte, Accardi and Giuffredi resulted in the public being told that Esposito and his entourage were responsible for the rupture, exactly as the club allegedly intended.

Yesterday, Cagliari’s director general Melis described the situation as a “tentativo di estorsione” (attempt of extortion). Corona warns that being linked to such accusations carries serious weight and must be used with extreme responsibility.

He also references the case of Pisacane, claiming the club turned its back on the youngster in the name of moral integrity that, the player has never demonstrated. Corona promises to publish the phone recording and documents proving a connection between president Tommaso Giulini and the procurement firm Quadratum in the next episode of Falsissimo sul Calcio.

The post appeared in the Notizie Calciomercato section and was highlighted by Google Discover, listed under Fonti preferite and Stampa with the rating A− A+. The surrounding HTML code shows a zoom control script, confirming the article’s online presentation format.

If the alleged plan is confirmed, Esposito’s ability to return to Cagliari would be blocked, reinforcing the club’s intention to sell him without alienating its supporters.
