Controversy calms: Mbappé trains alone at Real Madrid
Kylian Mbappé returned to the Valdebebas training centre on Monday and carried out an individual session for Real Madrid, after being at the centre of controversy over his recovery from a left‑knee injury.
Criticism of the absence
The striker's absence from recent training sessions and images posted on social media, in which he was seen cycling, sparked criticism over the weekend. The player had left the French national team camp after injuring himself in the match against Turkey, a Nations League fixture on 25 September.
Goal of returning to the pitch
Back at the Real Madrid City, Mbappé trained alone both inside the facilities and on the pitch, performing exercises with and without a ball to continue the recovery process. Real Madrid confirmed that the forward is still recovering, with the aim of being available for the eighth‑round La Liga match against Villarreal, scheduled for this Saturday at the Santiago Bernabéu. The club had initially projected a recovery period of two to three weeks after the hyperextension of the left knee.
