Club Brugge chase bragging rights as PSV host them in Eindhoven

There is certainly no love lost between Dutch and Belgian football fans when their two nations face off against each other. The low countries have a rivalry that, for the most part, the Dutch have gotten the better of. This week in the Champions League, the champions of the two countries’ respective leagues – BeNe League PSV and Club Brugge – do battle in Eindhoven.
Club Brugge have had a fantastic start to the Champions League and will travel to face PSV on the back of fine form. Since beating Antwerp 3-1 on 13 September, the defending Belgian champions have won all of their subsequent seven games. That run includes back‑to‑back Champions League victories, away at Inter and at home against Lens.
PSV's recent fortunes
PSV recorded their first Champions League win against FC Porto, a result that followed a run of two wins, two defeats and one draw in their previous five games. They then demonstrated their scoring power with a seven‑goal demolition of newly promoted Willem II. Another away victory over Porto was described as an impressive catalyst for their campaign. PSV also suffered an away loss to RB Leipzig after an opening‑day draw with Shakhtar Donetsk.
