CL misfire: Leipzig hatches a plan before champion PSV Eindhoven arrives
The start of the Champions League season of RB Leipzig was anything but according to plan: the 1‑4 loss to Como on the first matchday was a clear mis‑start on the European stage. Coach Martin Demichelis saw hardly any positives and criticised the lack of identity of the team.
On the next matchday Leipzig will host the Dutch champion PSV Eindhoven. The visit of the champion puts the side in the position of correcting the poor start and showing convincing performance again on the stage.
In the Bundesliga Leipzig has so far shown no consistency: after two wins came two defeats, before a 6‑0 victory over Eintracht Frankfurt served as a rescue blow and could give the team new momentum for the upcoming tasks.
