Chukwueze's pace drives Milan but late substitution stalls push

Super Eagles winger Samuel Chukwueze Features for AC Milan on Sunday evening as the Rossoneri were held to a 1‑1 draw, with AC Milan Hold Sassuolo in their Serie A clash at the Mapei Stadium. The Nigerian international, on his sixth league appearance of the campaign, had already provided two assists this season before being substituted in the 85th minute.

Chukwueze troubled the Sassuolo defence with his pace and direct runs throughout the contest. He was withdrawn in the 85th minute for Hutchinson as Milan searched for a late winner.

The first half ended without goals, prompting an early tactical tweak when Koni De Winter replaced the injured Matteo Gabbia. Milan then intensified after the break, seeking to break the deadlock.

Rabiot's strike and Odenthal's reply

Midfielder Adrien Rabiot opened the scoring for the visitors in the 63rd minute, finishing sharply after a pass from substitute Luka Modrić. The lead lasted only four minutes.

Sassuolo equalised quickly when defender Cas Odenthal rose to meet a set‑piece, beating Mike Maignan to the ball in the 67th minute. The home crowd celebrated the leveller.

Milan applied pressure in the closing stages, introducing fresh legs such as Ardon Jashari and Alphadjo Cisse. However, Fabio Grosso’s Sassuolo defensive block held firm to secure a hard‑earned point.
