Champions Women: Roma, Juventus and Inter in the league phase

In the conference room in Nyon, the representatives of the three Italian clubs watched the draw that set the opponents for the group stage of the UEFA Women’s Champions League, with the first matches scheduled for September 22 and 23.

Group stage format

The tournament features a single group of eighteen teams, with each team playing six matches – three at home and three away – against six different opponents, two from each tier. ROMA's OPPONENTS were revealed on the evening in Nyon. The new model was introduced to align the men's and women's competition, and UEFA's draw confirmed the new format.

Schedule and qualifications

The group stage matchdays run from September 22/23 to December 16, with all games broadcast on Disney+. At the end of the six matchdays, the top four teams will qualify directly for the quarter‑finals, while the teams placed fifth to twelfth will contest play‑offs for the remaining four spots. The dates for the knockout rounds have been set for December and February, with the quarter‑finals in late March.

ROMA, Italian champions, will host Barcelona, Real Madrid and Servette, while away they will face Chelsea – where Giulia Dragoni, a former Roma player, has been playing for a few weeks – Benfica and Leuven. Four of the six opponents (Barcelona, Chelsea, Real and Leuven) are the same as last year.

Juve will host Lyon, Benfica and Leuven, and travel to Paris Saint‑Germain (PSG), Hacken and Austria Vienna. The schedule mirrors last season’s programme against Lyon and Benfica.

INTER, coming off the surprising feat against Wolfsburg, will host Arsenal, Hacken and Manchester City, and travel to Lyon, Real Madrid and Austria Vienna. Coming from the third tier, the club faces the toughest challenge of the group stage.
