Press A− A+ The UEFA Executive Committee met today in Thessaloniki, Greece, and designated the host cities for the UEFA finals, including one in Italy for the 2028‑29 season. The decision marks an important step for the distribution of continental competitions.

The Committee has indicated the cities for the UEFA Champions League, the UEFA Women’s Champions League, the UEFA Europa League, the UEFA Conference League and the UEFA Futsal Champions League.

Among the selected venues, Italy will be represented with one final, confirming the country's commitment to the European landscape.

The designation also includes the UEFA Women’s Champions League and the UEFA Futsal Champions League, highlighting the desire to increase the visibility of these disciplines.

The UEFA Executive Committee has approved a new promotion and relegation system for the UEFA Nations League 2026/27, aimed at ensuring a gradual transition to the model approved in May 2026.

Starting from the 2028/29 edition, the Nations League will consist of three leagues instead of four, according to the new structural setup.

The next Executive Committee meeting will be held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, on December 7, the day after the draw for the UEFA EURO 2028 qualifiers, which will take place in the same city.

These decisions outline the future European calendar, offering new hosting opportunities and a leaner structure for international competitions.
