Celtic’s O’Neill faces hard‑but‑fair grilling from Greenock supporters

Martin O’Neill and senior Celtic board members endured a hard‑but‑fair grilling from roughly 120 supporters at the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club on Monday night, 3 November, the club confirmed. The two‑and‑a‑half‑hour session saw chairman Brian Wilson, chief executive Michael Nicholson and chief financial officer Chris McKay join the manager alongside other officials.
Supporters clubs voice concerns
Representatives from Greenock, Port Glasgow, Gourock, Johnny Doyle, Port Glasgow Hibs and Largs supporters clubs were among the roughly 120 fans present, all there to seek information and voice concerns.
The meeting came a day after Celtic’s 2‑0 defeat at Falkirk, leaving the side with just three wins from their previous ten matches in all competitions.
O’Neill should have left Celtic in glory, says Crowe
O’Neill told the Hoops’ website that he asked to attend because he wants to meet supporters as much as possible, acknowledged the difficult weeks and supporters’ frustrations, but insisted his resolve and the players’ commitment remain strong to bring success and progress to the club.
Chairman Brian Wilson vowed the club would take supporters’ concerns on board, thanked the Greenock Celtic Supporters’ Club for hosting a constructive and respectful event, and said the messages would be learned from.
