Brighton Emilie Joramo declares ‘I’m ready’ for WSL impact

Brighton & Hove Albion have secured Norwegian midfielder Emilie Joramo on a free transfer, completing the signing at the end of June. The midfielder joins the Women’s Super League side, bringing her long‑standing ambition to play in England.

Brighton’s long‑standing interest

The club have long had their eye on Joramo, impressed by her performances in Scandinavia. Brighton’s scouting network identified her as a player capable of adapting to the pace of the WSL.

Joramo has always been keen on the Women’s Super League, describing the league as a goal she wanted to reach. She held herself back from pushing for a move from Scandinavia until now, waiting for the right moment.

“I’d been interested in the league for a long time now and it was a goal for me to get here one day,” Joramo said. “It was about finding the right path for me to get here. I didn’t want to go too early, I wanted to feel ready for it both physically and mentally. Now, everything just felt right.”

She believes she is now in the place she wants to be and feels ready to make an impact in the WSL. “I feel like I’m now in the place I want to be,” she added. Brighton gain a motivated midfielder eager to contribute, while the Norwegian sees the move as the culmination of her long‑term objective.
