Bournemouth makes the Rossoneri falter, Lukebakio decisive in Nicosia

Mixed fortunes for the Red Devils in Europe, AC Milan’s Rossoneri endured a nightmare evening in Bournemouth, where the Red Devils Diego Moreira and Koni De Winter started, before conceding a penalty as early as the seventh minute, seeing their goalkeeper Mike Maignan sent off in the thirties, and losing 3‑0. Simultaneously, Dodi Lukebakio provided an assist to Benfica, who won 4‑1 in Nicosia.

From the seventh minute, Koni De Winter handled the ball with his hand in the box, giving a penalty to the English. Justin Kluivert converted it, opening the scoring for Bournemouth.

Maignan’s sending‑off and escalation

In the thirty‑second minute, goalkeeper Mike Maignan was sent off after a challenge to Tyler Adams’ face. Marcus Tavernier converted the ensuing penalty, making it 2‑0.

Late in the game, Amine Adli scored Bournemouth’s third goal from a free kick in the eighty‑fourth minute, a few minutes after Diego Moreira was substituted.

Benfica opened the scoring against Omonia thanks to an own goal by Loic Nego in the fourteenth minute. Andronikos Kakoullis equalised in the forty‑second minute, bringing the match level before the break.

Vangelis Pavlidis gave the lead in the forty‑nine minute, followed by Fredrik Aursnes in the sixty‑sixth. Coming on in the eighty‑third minute, Dodi Lukebakio provided an assist to Gianluca Prestianni, who scored the fourth goal in the eighty‑fifth minute.

Leandro Trossard played the full match between Besiktas and Crystal Palace, which ended in a 2‑2 draw. The Turkish club therefore lost its first points in the competition.

Yorbe Vertessen and Salzburg suffered a disappointment: after leading 2‑0 at Celje, the Austrians had to settle for a 2‑2 draw.

Charles De Ketelaere played sixty‑two minutes in Atalanta’s defeat in Amsterdam against Ajax (2‑0). Leander Dendoncker and Alec Van Hoorenbeeck came on in the seventy‑eighth and eighty‑fifth minute respectively during Hajduk Split’s victory in Thun (0‑1).
