Bournemouth dominate Milan in Europa League, Kluivert decides

AC Milan lost Thursday evening in the Europa League 0‑3 to AFC Bournemouth, partly thanks to a penalty by Justin Kluivert. The Portuguese club of coach Rúben Amorim was outplayed by the English opponent, which had already won two group matches.
How the match unfolded
Early in the first half, starter Justin Kluivert delivered a cross from Evanilson into a dangerous area, but missed the ball just outside the goal. Immediately afterwards, goalkeeper Diego Moreira blocked a shot from Ben Doak. A second attempt by Evanilson ended with a header that went past the post.
The referee then determined that the ball had come off the hand of Koni De Winter, resulting in a penalty being awarded to Bournemouth. Justin Kluivert converted the penalty and made the score 1‑0.

Shortly afterwards, Mike Maignan, the French goalkeeper of Milan, gave a push to Tyler Adams' face during a corner and was immediately shown a red card. The subsequent penalty was taken by Marcus Tavernier, giving Bournemouth a 2‑0 lead.
In the second half Bournemouth continued to dominate. Substitute Rayan headed a chance, but Amine Adli sealed the final score at 3‑0 with a beautiful free kick.
Bournemouth started the competition phase strongly, after a 2‑1 win over Real Sociedad and a 3‑0 victory over Sturm Graz. Milan began the phase with a 0‑2 defeat to Benfica, but later recovered with a 4‑0 win over Red Bull Salzburg.
