Borussia Dortmund on top, win at Paderborn, Kovac satisfied

Borussia Dortmund closed the third round of the league with a 3‑0 victory over Paderborn, maintaining the top position together with Freiburg, while coach Niko Kovac said he was satisfied with the performance for the full ninety minutes.

Borussia Dortmund collected three points in each of the first three matchdays, sharing the summit with Freiburg.

The yellow‑black team beat Paderborn 3‑0 yesterday, confirming the clear win.

It was not easy, because Paderborn played very well, but Dortmund's defence allowed nothing.

In the second half the game opened up a little, while the opponents' energy faded.

Dortmund created several good chances to score more goals, but failed to convert them.

Niko Kovac said: “We started well with the opening goal.”

He added that the win helps, especially after the hard‑fought UEFA Champions League match on Tuesday.

Kovac emphasized that one cannot expect to dominate and finish the match in the first half.
