Bolton's Augsburg loan gamble: 29 Ligue 2 outings for Kyliane Dong

The 21‑year‑old began his professional career in France with Troyes. He transferred to Augsburg in 2025, marking his first move abroad.
Despite being on Augsburg's books, Dong has yet to make a full appearance for the German side. His development has therefore continued through loan spells.
Last season he returned to France on loan with Pau, where he featured in 31 matches. The Ligue 2 campaign gave him regular senior minutes.
"It means a lot. I think it's an important step in my young career, and I'm grateful for the trust the club has shown in me," Dong said. "I'll try to do the very best I can."
"This will be the first time I play in the Championship. I'm excited, I can't wait, and I hope we'll be able to keep Bolton in the Championship," he added.
Dong also reflected on his French roots, stating, "I started playing football in France and, as a French player, England is a dream."
The signing adds to the latest Bolton Wanderers news as the club prepares for the upcoming season.
