Birmingham City and Southampton miss out as Jebbison stays at Bournemouth
Birmingham City and Southampton face a striker shortage after AFC Bournemouth confirmed forward Daniel Jebbison will stay, a setback also felt by Blackburn Rovers. Both clubs had identified the 22‑year‑old as a potential loan target to fill gaps left by departing forwards.

Jebbison likely to stay at Bournemouth
According to Alexander Smith via X, Jebbison looks increasingly likely to remain with Bournemouth beyond the September 1 deadline after impressing manager Marco Rose in pre‑season. The club also agreed a deal to sell Turkish striker Enes Unal back to Getafe, leaving Rose with few options up front.
Jebbison, 22, spent last season on loan at Preston North End, scoring six goals and providing two assists in 38 Championship appearances. His performances gave him competition at Deepdale alongside Lewis Dobbin, Milutin Osmajic and Michael Smith.
Championship clubs must look elsewhere
Interest from Birmingham City, Southampton and Wrexham emerged last Wednesday, while Blackburn Rovers had shown early interest, but the forward now appears set to stay on the South Coast. Birmingham can still count on August Priske, Luis Vazquez and Marvin Ducksch, although Ducksch is linked with a return to Germany.
Southampton recently secured a loan for Manchester City striker Divin Mubama, yet the Saints continue to search for alternatives after Ross Stewart’s departure. Mubama will compete with Cyle Larin, while former Preston teammate Lewis Dobbin offers manager Tonda Eckert another option.
Both Birmingham City and Southampton will monitor Jebbison’s situation, but with the move off the table they must explore other attacking reinforcements to address their striking deficiencies.
