Barça thrash El Ejido and boost power ahead of the Champions League

Sergio González scored a brace while Barça's futsal team defeated El Ejido 7‑2, a rout that confirms their power before the Main Round of the Champions League, the first continental phase that the culés will contest in Lucenec, Slovakia.

Rout with González's brace

The match started with early goals from Antonio in the 3rd minute and Sergio González in the 10th, while El Ejido's goalkeeper Vandeson reduced the deficit to 1‑2 with a shot from his area. Barça's starting eleven included Miquel Feixas, Antonio, Catela, Sergio González and Pito, and among the substitutes Higor and Joao Victor stood out. FCB journalist Jordi Batalla reported the action from the stands.

Before halftime, Higor scored twice (minutes 18 and 26) and Pito, recovered from a muscle injury, netted the fifth goal in the 25th minute, leaving the score 1‑4. After the interval, the home side Juanico reduced it to 2‑6 in the 32nd minute, but Sergio González answered in the 33rd to seal the final 2‑7.

The match was played in front of about 1,500 spectators at the El Ejido Municipal Sports Pavilion, under the direction of referees Borja Darriba Villamor and Rubén Ferrero Carballal. Yellow cards were shown to Nico Rosa, Roger, Rufino and Eric Martel, and Beto received a red card for.

Barça leads provisionally

After the international break, the side coached by Javi Rodríguez added this emphatic victory against a newly promoted team that could not stop the culés' top talent. The coach highlighted the squad's ability to maintain intensity throughout the 40 minutes.

On the same matchday, coach Flick offered the keys to contain Mbappé, while praising Mourinho ahead of the next Classic, according to journalist Gabriel Sans. These statements underline Barça's tactical preparation for the upcoming commitments.

The victory places Barça as provisional leader, awaiting the matches against Palma and Jaén. In the Champions League they will face host Lucenec, Swiss side Minerva and Kazakh side Semey, aiming to establish themselves as a title contender.
