Bakayoko could leave Leipzig as early as next January

In the turmoil of the Bundesliga, the young Belgian winger Johan Bakayoko, 23, who hasn't found his place since arriving from PSV Eindhoven, could leave RB Leipzig this winter, a departure that echoes the hopes of the Red Devils of the Tedesco era.

His Bundesliga adventure could come to an end after just a year and a half.

RB Leipzig recruited him in the summer of 2025 for eighteen million euros.

This amount could still rise to twenty-two million euros thanks to bonuses.

The winger signed until 2030, but has not yet lived up to the high expectations.

Under Ole Werner and then his successor Martin Demichelis, he has not secured a place in the starting lineup.

In total, he has played twenty-six official matches for Leipzig, scoring three goals.

This season, his role is even more limited.

Between the Bundesliga and the DFB‑Pokal, he has appeared only four times, totaling one hundred and forty‑nine minutes of play.

He therefore has not yet been able to leave his mark.

Proposed sale price

According to Sky Sport, Leipzig is aiming for at least eleven to twelve million euros in case of a definitive sale.

A loan during the winter transfer window appears as the most realistic scenario at present.

Bakayoko is open to a transfer, his limited playing time having already cost him a significant portion of his performance bonuses from last season.
