Arsenal’s hunt for Tzolis intensifies as Trossard exits

🇬🇧 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·
[Getty Images] Arsenal are set to accelerate their pursuit of Club Brugge attacker Christos Tzolis after the departure of Leandro Trossard, with the Greece international reportedly available for about £30m. The Gunners’ interest was first reported in June and the Belgian club are anticipating an offer. Leandro Trossard’s exit leaves a clear gap on the left side of Arsenal’s front line, prompting the club to look for a forward who can provide creativity and goal threat in the Premier League. Sporting director Andrea Berta is leading the deal, while his assistant Maurizio Micheli watched the 24‑year‑old play for Greece against Sweden last month, prompting the Gunners’ focus on the forward. Tzolis has impressed at Club Brugge, and his Belgian side expect a formal bid following the summer exit of Trossard, making the transfer a logical next step for Arsenal’s recruitment plan. Arsenal’s summer agenda also includes a long‑term interest in Atletico Madrid’s Julian Alvarez, the Argentina striker who remains a priority target despite interest from Barcelona and Real Madrid. The club’s other high‑profile target is Morgan Rogers, the versatile attacker from Aston Villa, valued at £130m, with Arsenal planning to ramp up efforts once his World Cup duties with England conclude. Paris St‑Germain winger Bradley Barcola is viewed as an alternative should a deal for Rogers fall through, adding another layer to Arsenal’s transfer strategy. Recruitment specialist Maurizio Micheli also scouted Georgia Under‑21 international Andria Bartishvili, who featured for Iberia against Flora in a Champions League qualifier, indicating Arsenal’s broader push for young talent.
