Arsenal eye £42m Nicolo Tresoldi as Raya hints at La Liga exit

Arsenal have identified Club Brugge’s 22‑year‑old striker Nicolo Tresoldi as a potential January signing, with his market value now estimated at roughly £42 million after the Belgian side turned down a £30 million offer from Roma. The Gunners hope the forward, who netted nine goals in twelve league games this term, can bolster their attack.

Arsenal target Nicolo Tresoldi

Sport journalist Jake Bayliss reported that Tresoldi’s form includes a Champions League hat‑trick against Inter Milan, underscoring his ability on the European stage. His nine‑goal haul in twelve appearances has attracted interest from several top clubs, but Arsenal are keen to secure him before the winter window closes.

Why the Gunners need reinforcement

Mikel Arteta is determined to build on last season’s success by retaining the Premier League title and lifting the Champions League trophy for the first time in the club’s history. The Gunners bolstered their ranks this summer with the arrivals of Ezri Konsa, Bruno Guimaraes and Christos Tzolis, yet Arteta’s attempts to sign Real Madrid’s Vinicius Junior and Atletico Madrid forward Julian Alvarez fell through, leaving a clear need for more attacking firepower.

Raya's future ambitions

Spain international David Raya has hinted that he would love to test himself in La Liga, telling, “Yes, I would love to, I would love to try La Liga… I’m Spanish and I would love to play there, that’s for sure.” The 31‑year‑old goalkeeper confirmed he is happy at Arsenal for now but sees a future move to a Spanish club as a realistic possibility.

Raya remains under contract until 2028 and has been integral to the Gunners since arriving on loan from Brentford in 2023. He has won three consecutive Premier League Golden Glove awards and was part of Spain’s World Cup‑winning squad this summer, cementing his reputation as one of the world’s best goalkeepers.

Club Brugge’s valuation of Tresoldi has risen to around £42 million, a sharp increase after they rejected Roma’s £30 million bid. AC Milan are also monitoring the 22‑year‑old, who admits he is a lifelong fan of the Italian giants, meaning Arsenal could face stiff competition for his signature.

If Arsenal succeed in signing Tresoldi, the striker would add depth and goal‑scoring threat to a side already strengthened by Konsa, Guimaraes and Tzolis. At the same time, Raya’s possible departure would leave a vacancy in goal that Arteta will need to address, either by promoting a backup or entering the market.

Arsenal have made a strong start to the new season, yet both the potential arrival of Tresoldi and the prospect of Raya leaving highlight the club’s awareness that there is still room for improvement in the transfer window.
