Algeria’s coach hunt begins as Petkovic’s tenure ends by mutual consent

At the Algerian Football Federation’s bustling headquarters on Monday, officials announced that Algeria have opened a search for a new national team head coach, ending Vladimir Petkovic’s 29‑month tenure with the Desert Foxes by mutual agreement. The federation’s statement confirmed the termination of his contract and that of his technical staff by mutual agreement.

The federation’s official communiqué read: “The Algerian Football Federation announces the official termination today of its contractual relationship with the national team coach, Mr. Vladimir Petkovic, and his technical staff, by mutual agreement.” The federation also confirmed that the technical staff left alongside the coach.

FAF did not disclose the reasons behind the decision. It also did not outline the process for appointing a successor.
