Ajax fans call Gloukh a ‘clown’: storm around the winger
Ajax and Atalanta Bergamo are currently facing each other in the Conference League. While the two clubs battle, one Ajax player is being particularly harshly criticised online: the Israeli winger Oscar Gloukh, who, according to supporters, draws attention with his play and his often unnecessary loss of possession.
Combinations under Sánchez
Coach Míchel Sánchez occasionally shows a fluid combination between his players. In the final phase of the attack, however, the movement often breaks down, resulting in the ball ending up with Gloukh. The combinations appear promising, but the ball is lost too often before a clear chance is created.
Gloukh then often appears as an opportunistic left‑winger, a role in which he receives the ball but manages little effect. His position shifts between left and right, leaving him under pressure. This leads to frustration among supporters, who question the efficiency of the attack.
Online storm around Gloukh
Supporters express their frustration in numerous online comments. One fan wrote: “If Gloukh is selfish again just swap him. Dead‑tired of him.” Another remark reads: “Gloukh = loss of possession, get rid of that clown!” And another voice: “Can’t stand that Gloukh, man.”
We also read: “Gloukh is again mostly busy with Gloukh.” and “Gloukh could also give a pass once in a while, you know.” Some claim he focuses too much on his own game.
A French supporter noted: “Gloukh when he has to make 168 feints from a standstill and must dribble without losing the ball: world‑class player. Gloukh when he has to deliver a simple pass between the lines to play out under pressure and speed up the game: plumber (and another bad one as well).” The comparison with a plumber underscores the disappointment in his decision‑making.
A few positive voices emerge: “Gloukh is so far the best player at Ajax.” and “You are by far the most creative of all players on the pitch today. Lovely player.” Nevertheless, Gloukh remains a creative factor who, according to some, can enrich Ajax’s attack. Owen Wijndal is also praised: “Owen Wijndal is on fire,” we read.
The discussion continues as the two clubs carry on their confrontation in the Conference League, and the opinions of the fan base could possibly influence Sánchez’s future choices. As long as the match goes on, the online debate will undoubtedly keep growing.
