PSG close to €50‑60 million deal for Ajax striker Mika Godts
Paris Saint‑Germain are in the final stage of negotiations to sign 21‑year‑old Ajax forward Mika Godts, with a formal offer expected before the summer transfer window shuts. The French club is reportedly prepared to meet Ajax’s valuation of €50‑60 million for the Dutch‑born attacker.
Godts finished the 2025‑26 Eredivisie campaign as Ajax’s top scorer, netting 17 goals and providing 12 assists, and he extended his contract with the club in November 2024 to run until mid‑2029.
His Belgian agent, Niels De Jonck, told reporters that “we are working on the personal terms and the club is very enthusiastic,” indicating that both sides are close to an agreement.
The rumor gained further credibility after a video surfaced of Godts walking alongside PSG sporting director Luís Campos along the Douro River in Porto, a day after Ajax’s Conference League win over FK Vojvodina. The clip quickly spread on social media, confirming the clubs’ ongoing talks.
PSG have redirected their transfer focus to the Dutch striker after abandoning negotiations for Yan Diomande of RB Leipzig. Despite already boasting a potent attack featuring Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, Désiré Doué and Ballon d’Or winner Ousmane Dembélé, the French side view Godts as the missing piece to deepen their offensive options.
Financially, PSG have been relatively quiet this summer following the €40 million sale of Lee Kang‑in to Atlético Madrid and the €74 million transfer of Gonçalo Ramos to AC Milan. A bid in the €50‑60 million range would satisfy Ajax, which has repeatedly stressed it will only sell for a “top price” that reflects the player’s true market value.
Ajax’s sporting director confirmed the club’s willingness to negotiate but warned that “Mika has worked hard this season and deserves a move that recognises his contribution,” adding that the club will not compromise on price.
If the transfer materialises, Godts will join a PSG lineup already regarded as one of Europe’s most formidable attacking units, potentially reshaping the balance of power in the upcoming Champions League season.
