ADO Den Haag targets midfield stability with Heracles’ Jan Zamburek
ADO Den Haag have moved to plug a creative midfield void by signing 25‑year‑old Jan Zamburek from Heracles Almelo, sealing a contract that runs until mid‑2029, as announced today at 21:07. The deal marks the club’s second summer reinforcement and signals intent to remain in the Eredivisie.
The announcement from ADO Den Haag." highlighted the club’s ambition after clinching the Keuken Kampioen Divisie title last season; the departure of several midfield options has left a tactical gap that Zamburek is expected to fill.
Zamburek spent the previous two campaigns with Heracles, having risen through the youth ranks of Slavia Praag before becoming one of the most‑hailed talents in Tsjechië, earning sixty youth internationals and a transfer to Brentford that never materialised.
Last season he featured in 26 matches for the relegated Heracles side, providing both defensive cover and attacking thrust as a left‑footed midfielder.
Earlier this summer ADO also secured defender Lasse Wilhelm, underscoring a broader recruitment drive aimed at bolstering the squad ahead of the new campaign.
Zamburek will join the first‑team group in pre‑season, and because ADO Den Haag will not descend to the Keuken Kampioen Divisie, he is set to compete for a starting spot as the club pursues its Eredivisie ambitions.
