Accordo Comune-De Laurentiis forces Bari to fund San Nicola use
The Accordo Comune-De Laurentiis secures Bari’s use of the San Nicola stadium until 1 November, but obliges the club to shoulder roughly €215,000 in costs, marking a provisional financial commitment amid ongoing legal scrutiny. The arrangement, announced via Google Discover among the Fonti preferred and listed under Stampa A− A+, outlines monthly fees and maintenance responsibilities.
Dopo weeks of negotiations, the terms were set. The accord establishes a precarious loan of use with a monthly charge of €5,000. In addition, ordinary and extraordinary maintenance costs are estimated at around €200,000. Combined, Bari will incur roughly €215,000 during the first three months of the 2026/27 season.
The Comune and the club, owned by the De Laurentiis family, signed the pact. The limited term is tied to a prosecutor’s investigation into alleged fraudulent bankruptcy involving the club and Luigi and Aurelio De Laurentiis. The evolving judicial case prompted both parties to opt for a provisional solution, deferring any longer‑term decision until after November.
The agreement also governs the use of San Nicola by Monopoli, which will host several fixtures there. No fixed fee is set; Monopoli will reimburse Bari solely for the management costs incurred for each individual event.
The friendly scheduled for 15 August between Inter and Betis Sevilla is covered as well. Inter will pay €50,000 to the Comune, routed through Bari, which will then transfer the amount to the municipal administration.
Furthermore, the pact stipulates that Bari will not collect any revenue from stadium parking, a service that will remain under the direct competence of the Comune.
Looking ahead, the parties will revisit the arrangement once the legal proceedings conclude, with any extension or new terms to be decided after the November deadline.
