€50 million hunt: Roma eye Bundesliga wingers as Nusa stalls

AS Roma have earmarked roughly €50 million for a left‑wing signing, turning their attention to Bundesliga wingers after the Nusa deal stalls.

After the collapse of deals for Jesse Greenwood and Sam Summerville, the Giallorossi face a void on the left wing that threatens Francesco Gasperini’s attacking plans. The failed negotiations leave a gap that could hamper the team’s creativity. The €50 million budget reflects the club’s urgency to replace the departed or unavailable forwards.

With that budget in hand, Roma have turned to Frankfurt’s Jean‑Matteo Bahoya and Stuttgart’s Jamie Leweling as viable alternatives. Both players operate on the left flank and fit the profile the club seeks. The Giallorossi view them as realistic options to fill the vacancy.

Roma’s primary target remains Nusa, a 2005‑born Norwegian winger valued at €55‑60 million by RB Leipzig. His price previously deterred the club, but he is now back on the market as a potential solution. The Norwegian’s availability revives hopes of securing a top‑tier talent.

Jamie Leweling of Stuttgart offers versatility, capable of playing on either flank. He has contributed 11 goals and 12 assists across 50 matches in all competitions. His valuation sits around €40 million, making him a cheaper option than the Norwegian prospect.

Frankfurt’s Jean‑Matteo Bahoya, born in 2005, has logged 1,646 minutes with four goals and four assists. His market value is estimated between €25 million and €30 million. The young winger provides a cost‑effective alternative for the Giallorossi.

La dello Sport lists El Mala as the top candidate, followed by Cologne at €50 million, then Bahoya and Leweling in second and third place respectively. These rankings illustrate the breadth of Roma’s scouting net across the Bundesliga.

Director D’Amico reportedly has several players in his pocket to avoid a squad shortfall if Nusa’s deal collapses. The club’s swift action is essential to prevent a prolonged gap on the left side.

Securing any of these options would fill Roma’s left‑wing void and bolster Francesco Gasperini’s attacking plans. For the players, a move to the Giallorossi would represent a step up that aligns with their current market valuations.
