€20m fee fuels PSG’s loan gamble on Gabriel Moscardo at Espanyol

🇫🇷 By 4AllFootball Editorial ·

€20m fee underpins Paris Saint‑Germain’s loan of 20‑year‑old midfielder Gabriel Moscardo to Espanyol, confirmed today. The Brazilian’s third consecutive season on loan aims to boost his market value for the Parisians. Having previously featured for Braga and Reims, the 20‑year‑old hopes a strong La Liga campaign will attract interest.

The loan to Espanyol includes no purchase option, allowing PSG to retain full control over Moscardo’s future. As the player adapts to a higher‑standard La Liga environment, the Parisians will monitor his progress from the Parc des Princes.

The Brazilian previously spent a season on loan at Braga, a Portuguese side that finished fourth in the Primeira Liga and qualified for the Europa Conference League. He also featured for Reims in France, adding valuable experience before returning to PSG.

With a constant supply of talent from their youth academy, PSG wonder whether Moscardo will ever feature again under Luis Enrique. Meanwhile, Randal Kolo Muani’s stalled move to Juventus and the search for a replacement for Kang‑in Lee keep the club’s transfer agenda active.

If Moscardo delivers a solid season in Spain, PSG could command a profitable resale price above the €20m investment. The loan reflects a wider trend of top clubs using temporary moves to develop young assets while managing financial risk.
